Manuel wrote thirteen books in total, eight of which survive today. Translated into English by James York. Illustrated throughout with numerous plates from drawings by S L Wood. CONDITION In original green cloth binding with pictorial boards and gilt stamping to the front board and spine. Externally, smart with small patches of rubbing to the joints and to the extremities. Boards have faded slightly. Bumping to the head and tail of spine. Prior owner's signature to the recto of front endpaper, Frank Osborn 1919. Bibliographical information on this text to front pastedown. Ex library blind stamp to the half title page, G h Radford. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned to edges with spotting throughout, heavier to the first and last few pages.
