London : Ward and Downey.... 1885. A first edition of Mrs Burton Harrison's 'Folk and Fairy Tales...', published in London, 1885. With all twenty four plates and cover design by Walter Crane. Small 8vo, bound in original publishers grey cloth blocked in black and red designed by Walter Crane, all page edges gilt. Original botanical patterned endpapers. The contents are collated and complete: xi ,299pp, with all twenty four plates by Walter Crane. Measuring approx 13.5cm by 19cm. Condition: The binding is holding quite firmly, endpaper joints strained, the cloth dustmarked, rubbed and scuffed to surface, extremities/spine ends and corners bumped and abraded, staining to lower cover. Textblock is holding firmly in the main, final leaf of text, plate and free endpaper detached, joint between pp26 & 27 cracking and several ensuing quires working loose, contents in good clean condition if lightly toned/dustmarked towards page edges.
