Description: Here is an Unusual Heavy 2 piece 12” dia Spittoon dated Pat June 3 1884. It also has markings on its back that look to read MK & T, A & W Co., 30, so it is probably railroad. It looks to be made of some copper brass type of alloy with a silver or chrome coating and is very heavy weighing almost 9 lbs. The base looks to be in good condition. The top looks like it could be use resilvering as the underlying metal is showing in some places and it has some scratches and wear. Its top has tabs designed to lock under bars attached to the inside of the base. One of those tabs looks to have a piece of its end broken off so when one picks it up from the top part one side is not attached. When looking down on its top it has what looks like it could be a hairline crack starting at its center and running out. However when I look at the area from beneath I see no evidence of any cracks so if it is a crack it does not go through to the other side. Anyway this Old Spittoon had a great look to it.
