Description: 1883 State of Tennessee $5 remainder note Cr-TN-25. It was graded at PCGS Banknote as 65 Gem Uncirculated PPQ which makes it a Top Pop. This note, which features the portrait of Governor William B. Bates on the face and a vignette of the state capitol on the back, was part of a series intended to redeem notes of the Bank of Tennessee that had closed after the Civil War. The note is very rare, with Hugh Shull estimating a surviving population of 5-15 examples. Would make a great addition to any collection. The slab has some wear. Sorry no international shipping. Thanks
