1880's? Mass. Ancient Honourable Artillery Silver? Medal Film Maker Leon Dadmun!

Description: Here is a very nice old commemorative medal made of silver, I believe, in quite splendid condition overall, measuring app. 1 & 1/4" by 1 & 1/2", with a hanging device at the top, for the addition of a ribbon, slightly off as viewed from the reverse. This gorgeous military-related piece shows just light wear, and I have not done anything to alter or enhance its appearance, with four of the photos having been "enhanced" for clarity. It almost certainly belonged to an important personage involved with early American film making. The artillery company is the oldest chartered military organization in North America, begun in 1638 to train young officers from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and I believe this piece hails from the 1880's or thereabouts, and oddly enough, although I found another Dadmun on its roster, I cannot find this gentleman's name, Dadmun not a common one by any means. As a matter of fact, I can only find one reference at all to a Leon E. Dadmun, and if it is indeed the same person, his history is rather fascinating. "Leon Emilino Dadmun (1861-1943) was born in Lima, Peru, and after coming to the United States, a fellow named Leon E. Dadmun was involved in the early film making industry of America. Variously named the Dadmun Photographic Company or the Dadmun Film Company, he had his business in Newton, Massachusetts, his company acquired by the Atlas Film Company in 1917. In 1919, this gentleman was named the official photographer in charge of filming the return of the 26th Yankee Division from France, leading to the largest military parade in Boston's history. The obverse depicts the symbol of the organization, with a helmet above a shield enclosing an eagle, a sword at the left, a rifle at the right and a banner at the bottom reading "Facta Non Verba". The center of the reverse reads "For Long Service", with a bomb-like device beneath, and "Chartered 1638" is below, all surrounded by "Ancient & Honourable Artillery Company - Of Massachusetts". The edge is stamped "No 518 Sergt Leon E. Dadmun". Fascinating. $120.
