Description: 1878 P VAM 41C "Bearded Lady" Morgan Silver Dollar. 7/8 TF, weak 7/4 TF variety. Super CD Morgan VAM with clashed obverse In & st, chin, and to the right of hair. Strong obverse die clash defines the VAM 41C and makes it a Super CD Morgan VAM, one of of 25 highly collectible clashed dies identified by Dr. Mark Kimpton in his 2005 book "Elite Clashed Morgan Dollars." This is the later clashed die state of VAM 41A. Obverse - "Bearded" Lady Liberty with strong die clash marks, including partial incuse In of In God from reverse showing next to Liberty's neck, partial incuse of st of trust from reverse showing in right hair vee of lower hair edge, and clashed wreath from reverse below and in front of chin and behind hair. Single horizontal polishing line in hair gap above 7. Slightly broken tip of 4th right star. 7 in date doubled at top right edge. Die cracks from denticles below neck point through 18 in date and through all left stars. Incomplete cap band. Reverse - 7 over 8 tailfeather, weak 7/4 variety with partial end of tail feather showing between TF 2 and 3, thin line between TF 3 and 4, full end below TF 5, and partial end between TF 5 and 6. Doubled right leg and talons. Design remains in olive branch leaves, below branch on left and around wreath bow. Die scratch to left of bow. Doubled D in DOLLAR.
