Description: Stereoview photograph (oversized, cabinet size) of the lobby of a large hotel building at Lake George, New York, by Seneca Ray Stoddard, circa 1870s to 1880s. The view, No. 1127? from the Crystal series has a title too faint to read (probably Ft. Wm. Henry Hotel), shows a man standing and two seated woman in the foreground with six men around a counter behind them. Four men stand behind the counter, and two men face them from the other side. Note the cage like section to the right—likely the hotel post office. Note the wonderful gas light chandeliers. The stereoview is in very good condition with only light wear and soiling. The photographs exhibit very good tonal range and show very good detail. A very nice early hotel lobby and Lake George NY image!
