It is from the German Bilder Atlas, considered the most extensive lexicon of natural and scientific images of the 19th century, published in Leipzig by Brockhaus, 1874. It is labeled in German. A facsimile copy of the title page is included. It is being sold as a single sheet from the Atlas, not matted nor framed, as seen in the pic. A very nice print for anyone interested in the dress of the various officers during the reign of Louis XIV, including French, Prussian, Russian and Brandenburg or Germany. Size: The image area measures approximately 8 1/2 by 11 1/2 inches (22x30cm) on a 10 1/2 by 13" (27x34cm) page with a margin all around as seen in the pic. Condition: The print is in Good condition for its age with light tonal ageing, blank on the reverse, printed on strong papaer. There is a slight darkening around the edges and a few spots and light smudges around the margins, otherwise the print image is very clean. It is basically as shown in the pic, see the large detailed pic for closer inspection of condition. Overall, a very nice antique print that would frame up nicely. The pics are of the actual print.
