Description: Rare circa 1870's Baltimore, Maryland Trade Token, "Ad Libitum Club, 5c" in a circle of stars", Rulau Unlisted and Schenkman Unlisted. Brass, 20 mm diameter, and in vf condition. It is listed on Tokencatalog.com as TC-69323 location unknown, but it adds "Found in Baltimore, Maryland". I have owned this example for many years and I always suspected it was from the Maryland area, by the die style. Ad Libitum is a Latin phrase that means "At one's pleasure", which is an appropriate name for a 19th century social club.
