William Moody Chase was active from 1865 to 1895 both as a photographer and a publisher of photographic views covering the Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York regions most generously. In the 1890s, he published a less common set of views of Yellowstone that are presumed to be the work of other photographers. Following the Civil War, Chase worked with David Bachrach who appears to have made many of the views that were published under Chase’s holdings.
