Description: Original 1870's-1880's Indian Wars era tintype showing four soldiers playing cards. There are assorted sizes of stacks of coins for placing bets which are on the top of the table. Two of the soldiers are sitting in chairs & the other two soldiers are sitting on an animal fur rug. The rug is possibly a bear skin. But, we are not certain. The photo measures 3 7/16 inches tall by 2 5/16 inches wide. There is just a very slight bit of wear & the photo is in excellent condition. There are signs that this tintype was once housed in an oval paper matt. This fascinating tintype was found in 2018 in Morgantown, West Virginia. The reference number for this item is #9848.
