The Nevada State Museum is commemorating that milestone using the same coin press inside the same building where the original coins were struck in 1870. This is a copy of the first CC issued half dollar. The dies were sculpted by retired U.S. Mint engraver, Tom Rogers. The silver comes from the Coeur Rochester mine near Lovelock, Nevada.
