Description: 1870 AMERICAN HARP-ZITHER Eichler - Antique Instrument This antique instrument is an American Harp-Zither. It has an inside label with a patent date of 101,661 dating it back to about 1870. The label also reads "D.R. Patent #101,661, American Harp-Zither." The center of the label reads "A. Eichler, New York 33 First Street, Berlin S., Prienzenstr. 85, Patented in almost every civilized country." This is very difficult to read due to the label being in poor condition. It is missing 13 strings 29 strings intact. Some cracking on surface as shown in pictures and signs of its 150+ years of age. Overall it measures about 20" by 14-1/2". Good to Very Good Unrestored Antique Condition with signs of age. Not a perfect instrument. Either restore or use as a beautiful authentic wall hanging or display piece. Sold as is.
