First illustrated edition, original cloth covers bound at the end. Full leather. Gilt decorated spine with 5 raised bands, red title band with gilt letters. All page edges gilt. End papers marbled. Cover edges a little rubbed. Text is clean and bright, binding tight. A very nice copy. Slightly cocked back to front. Approximately 7 ½ inches tall. Condition Report Externally Spine – good condition – gilt titles and author on red labels, 5 raised gilt bands dividing 6 compartments, 4 of which have gilt decorations, spine tips also have a gilt decoration, gently bruised top and tail.Joints – good condition – rubbed.Corners – good condition – bumped and worn.Boards – good condition – dark blue leather boards with gilt decoration around the edges, the corner edges of each board are also gilt, the front board has minor damage along the top edge, slightly cocked.Page edges – good condition – all gilt.See above and photos.
