Thisscarce chart, embossed with the number 10, was published in the Report ofthe Superintendent of the Coast Survey showing the progress made in thesurvey for the year 1864 under the supervision of A. D. Bache. The map shows allof Chesapeake Bay, and the Atlantic coast up to Delaware Bay. Tributary riversare traced some way inland, including the James River, and the Potomac as faras Washington D.C. The map depicts the coastlines with a fair ampount ofdetail, traces the survey’s triangulation lines, and identifies a great numberof features and locations. Condition: Folding chart in fair antiquecondition, good print on on mildly age-toned paper, darker along the folds, afew repairs along folds with archival-quality tape, a 1 x .25 inch stain alongthe center horizontal fold, a couple of small spots.
