Description: Offered here is a recent estate sale purchase. It is a very hard to find moving eye clock, meant to be a German Burgermeister. The clock is marked on the bottom Germany and 1858 and it takes its style and shape from similar clocks made by Bradley & Hubbard. The owner purchased this clock while living overseas in the 1960's. The clock is currently running but it will need some adjustments. It does have more of a novelty clock movement with a hair spring, and I am not sure how long it will run on a full wind. The clock is time only. Overall in good condition, a few paint flecks/chips otherwise quite nice. The dial is porcelain with no cracks noted and the hands appear to be original. The crack seen just below his hat is where the clock separates when the movement is accessed by removing two screws from the arms. There is a number 18 marked below the movement on the front piece of the clock and a corresponding 18 on the inside of the back when removed. Also a H 6. Other than running the clock to make sure it functions I have made no other adjustments. The eyes move side to side and it's actually quite creepy, but will make an excellent addition to your collection. The clock is just shy of 10" tall and the base is 6-1/4" x 4-1/2". The pictures form part of my description. If you have questions please ask and I will try to answer. Please see my other auctions for more clocks. All items are from a non-smoking home.
