Illustrated with an engraved title page and seventy two further engraved plates, including depictions of the Usk, Caldey Island, Milford Haven, and Tintern.With a number of plates illustrated artist and steel engraver William Henry Bartlett and engraver and watercolourist Henry Gastineau, but with the majority of plates uncredited.The final leaf, page 144, finishes midway through a sentence, indicating that some text leaves are missing to the end of the second volume.Lacking letterpress title pages.Undated; dated 1851 via Jisc and WorldCat.With the binder's stamp of Jones of Machynlleth to the front pastedown.An impressive collection of engraved plates from a scarce work. CONDITION In a half straight grain morocco signed binding, with gilt detailing to back strip and marbled paper covered boards. Rubbing to joints, back strip head and tail, raised bands and board perimeters, resulting in small losses to the leather. Internally, firmly bound. Spotting to plate perimeters, with text leaves clean and bright.
