Description: The New Diogenes, a Cynical Poem. Philadelphia: Printed by Merrihew and Thompson, 1848. [title leaf], [5]-100pp. There is an inscription in ink (shorthand?) which I am quite unable to read apart from the reference to Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. There is also a pencil inscription "Edith Harrison, with the sincere regards of Diogenes", but I can do little to provide assurance that it is authorial. Average external wear and chipping, hinges cracked, covers still serviceably but not strongly attached. Pages yellowed with foxing, minor blemishes, a couple of pencil markings, a patch of discoloration from an insert, one line on one page altered with a pasted-down strip. Good.
