Description: PCGS authenticated and graded AU 55. Frosty medium brown and steel blending to light chocolate on the highpoints. The only marks are a few microscopic ticks on the obverse and a bit of fine crud around the berry over the left side of the N in ONE. EDS. The hair at the top of the ear is a bit softly struck, as always on this variety, but the rest of the coin is well struck. Removed from an NGC slab graded AU58 (NGC label #1941088-010 included, and it shows the attribution and Reiver provenance). CC#3 for this very scarce die variety in the Grellman census (the top 3 are 50-45-35). The surfaces are smooth and this cent has excellent eye appeal. Year - 1848Variety - N-32Rarity - 5
