A scarce 2nd edition printing by Elisha Bartlett (1804-1855), a Massachusetts physician who served in the state’s House of Representatives and as the first mayor of Lowell. Publication date of 1847, but advertisements at back indicate a publication date of early 1850. Owned by Thomas G. Fox, a Pennsylvania doctor and Republican who served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives during the Civil War.
