1846 LARGE INDENTURE Victorian SIR EDWIN JEYNES KNIGHT

Description: Original 1846 Indenture - Conveyance Reign of Queen Victoria Mrs. Margaret Cooper / Mr. Joseph Hughes, Jr. Minchinhampton - County of Gloucester - England Sir Edwin Jeynes (Knight) appears toward the bottom of this document. [ FEATURES AND DETAILS... ] - This is a large, single-page document with ribboned gutter. It measures approx. 31" wide x 27" tall (counting the foldover gutter). It is period paper, not parchment. - Original red seals and tax stamps are still in place. Notice that one red seal on the gutter is accompanied by a signature -- Margaret Cooper's -- while the other has no signature. - The ink is strong (little or no age loss). - My camera makes it look black and white, but the paper is a yellowed tone, and the ink is a sepia color. [ CONDITION... ] - Beautiful antique condition, from a non-smoking environment.- It has been stored in a folded position, and the folds are permanent. The paper is sound, though weak in a few places at the joints of the folds, as usual with this type of document.- The ink is strong -- little or no age loss. I am an antiques dealer, but not an expert on these 19th-century British documents. The above is my good-faith attempt to disclose all noteworthy issues. Keep in mind that antique items always show their age. (Don't we all!?)
