It features a sitting Lady Liberty with several varieties issued from 1838-1891. Type 1 featured No Motto above the Eagle on the back/reverse side, struck in 1838-1853. Type 2 featured Arrows at Date and Rays around the Eagle on the reverse, struck in 1853. Type 3 featured Arrows at Date with No Rays, struck 1854-1855. Type 4 Motto Above the Eagle, "IN GOD WE TRUST" struck in 1866-1873. Type 5 Arrows were added at the Date, struck in 1873-1874.
