This is a complete two volume set of the memoir of Guillaume-Mathieu Dumas, which contains the author's personal experiences and reflections regarding the French Revolution, as well as the French Empire and the Restoration. This work was published posthumously by the author's son, with a dedication from the author stating that he wished to provide true testimony for these historical events.Contents include many notable conflicts and general anecdotes, such as 'Entrance into the Service in 1773', 'Visit of General Washington', 'The First Troubles', and 'General Lafayette Accused'.Guillaume-Matthieu Dumas (1753-1837) was a French general.
