BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE STATE OF VERMONT, you are hereby commanded to attach the goods, chattels, or estate of Eben Landon of Shelburne and William J. Folsom of Burlington, to the value of one hundred dollars, and then notify thereof according to law; and for want thereof, take their bodies if to be found within your precinct, and then safely keep and cause to appear before me at Isaac V. Webster's office in East Burlington in said county, on the 26th day of November 1838 at 10 o’clock in the forenoon, then and there to answer to Carlos Baxter, William Weston, and George V. Shaw, all of the said Burlington, in a plea of action on a note dated March 7, 1838 for $55.20 payable in six months from its date to Arthur A. Wiley or order, and which was indorsed to the plaintiff. Of all which the defendants had due notice — but have wholly refused and still do refuse to pay the same. To the damage of the plaintiffs one hundred dollars, to recover which with just costs, this suit is brought.
