Description: It is an authentic copper engraved antique map approximately 175 years old with original handcolor outlining. It is from A New Atlas of Classical Geography by the Rev. J.P. Bean, one of the Masters of St. Paul's School (London:: Rivington, St. Pauls Church Yard and Waterloo Place, 1835). The publishiing details are in the bottom margin with a date of Jan. 8th, 1835 printed on the map. Also a facsimile copy of the title page is included for authenticity. It is a rare map from an atlas issued from St. Paul's Church in London for Classical studies, drawn by Reverend Bean. It is being sold as a single sheet, not mounted, matted nor framed, basically as seen in the pic, photographed against a dark background so you can see all the edges and actual condition. Size: The map image measures approximately 9 by 11 3/4 (23x30cm) inches on a 9 3/4 by 13" (25x33cm) page with a margin all around for matting, as seen in the main pic. Condition: It is in Good condition for its age printed on a strong buff paper, blank on the reverse with light tonal ageing, basically as seen in the pics. There are some short edge tears repaired on the reverse in the upper left corner and some minor wear around the edges, otherwise a very nice map with orignal handcolor that would frame up well.
