On this map you'll see the Russian possessions coming down from Alaska to approximately mid-British Columbia where the border is with the United States. Mexico at this time included all of Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, California and what appears to be parts of Utah and Nevada. This is a wonderful hand colored steel engraved map. This map is from A New General Atlas Exhibiting The Five Great Divisions of the Globe drawn and engraved by M. Malte-Brun. Atlas was published by Grigg & Elliot Philadelphia 1832. Map is on a single sheet of paper with a blank reverse measuring 9¼" x 11". The title page and cover shown are not Included in this auction but photocopy of the title page will be included. This is an original 192 year old map, not a copy or reprint. I have been selling antique and vintage maps on ebay for 25 years.
