Solomon Strong (1780-1850) was an American jurist and politician from Massachusetts. He was a graduate of Williams College in Williamstown, MA and practiced law in Northampton. He was an elected member of the Massachusetts State Senate as well as the US House of Representatives before being appointed to be a judge on the state's court of common pleas. This scarce 1832 pamphlet is a printing of Strong's message to a grand jury as they begin to hear the facts of a case. His speech is grand, filled with legal doctrine and through explanation of the role of a grand jury. He finishes his charge calling on the members of the jury to do their job well and embrace their role in American jurisprudence. COLPAP-1024-RT138
