Description: Here's a scarce early free blown "light bulb"font & pressed quatrefoil stair step base whale oil lamp blown at the Boston & Sandwich Glass Co in the 1830s.....it has a free blown light bulb shape font with stair step quatrefoil base...crude 3 ring glass wafers joining the font and base together.....rough pontil scar evidence up inside the hollow base.........11 1/2"tall.. smooth sheared mouth would have taken a drop in whale oil burner with cork liner, which is missing.....Excellent shiny nice condition with only 3 small shallow chips on very bottom or base edge; no other damage. A nice clean whale oil lamp from the 1830s. These early blown/pressed whale oil lamps are getting harder to find. This is one of the finest lamps from our own personal collection.......
