Here the former translations have been diligently compared and revised.With accompanying explanatory notes and practical observations by Thomas Scott, one of the founders of the Church Missionary Society who was well regarded for this work. His 'Commentary', included as notes in this work, was Scott's most successful work.Volume I includes Genesis - Esther.Volume II includes Job - Malachi.Volume III includes Matthew - Revelation.Bound by W. Barratt. CONDITION In a full crushed morocco binding. Externally, generally smart. Some rubbing to the boards and spines, heavier to the head and tail of the spine and joints. Minor marks to the boards, with some spots to the rear board of Volume I, and the front board of Volume II. Spines are a touch faded. Hinges of Volume I are starting but firm. Rear hinge of Volume III is starting but firm. Binder's label to the verso to the front endpaper of Volume I. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very lightly age-toned and clean with a few odd scattered spots. Overall Condition: Very Good GLOSSARY OF TERMS Overall Condition (Dustwrapper condition rating is shown after that for the book itself, where a dustwrapper is present) Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear Very Good Indeed - Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy Very Good - Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy Good - Meaning not very good.
