Lacking the folding map.Sir Henry Chauncy is best known for this county history of Hertfordshire, taking him fourteen years to write the series. This volume contains information relating to genealogical history of the county. In writing the work Chauncy paid a team of researchers to gather historical anecdotes and determine genealogical lines for him.Rebound in cloth, with endpapers renewed. Ink inscription 'His' to the head of each title page.A detailed study of Hertfordshire. CONDITION Rebound in cloth. Endpapers renewed. Evidence of title label removal from back strip heads. Otherwise, externally fine. Internally, generally firmly bound, but with a subscriber's leaf detached and loosely inserted to volume I. Pages age toned due to paper type, with instances of foxing and significant spotting and handling marks throughout. Lacking folding map.
