She also had an affair with the Count of Guines, the French ambassador to London.Lady Craven is best remembered for her travelogues, including 'A journey through the Crimea to Constantinople'.Rebacked, retaining the original boards and endpapers.With the bookplate of William Philip Molyneux, Earl of Sefton, to each front pastedown. CONDITION Rebacked, in full calf bindings retaining the original boards and endpapers. Gilt detailing to back strips. Rubbing to joints and board perimeters. Head and tail of front joints starting, with boards firmly held, and all hinges reinforced with cloth. Bookplates to front pastedowns. Internally, firmly bound. Tide marks and discolouration to volume II title page and frontispiece, with pages otherwise clean and bright.
