Some cracking and looseness to reinforced front hinges. Light markigns and marginalia, including bookplates at front of each volume. Text blocks remain bound well. A scarce 1st edition set of the work by James Fenimore Cooper (1789-1851). His first attempt at historical fiction, the novel was part of an attempted 13-part collection, but both Cooper and critics were generally unfavorable towards the book.
