Description: Day Book with entries from Jan.6 to March 12, 1812. Cannot find name of merchant or storekeeper, but research of some customer's names indicates that business was transacted largely in the Merrimack, Hillsboro and Rockingham County area of New Hampshire.Some of the customers were from towns such as Warner, Portsmouth, Amhurst (Amherst), Hillsborough, Deerfield NH etc. Many of the customers are repeat customers with purchases for coffee, sugar, tea, molasses, flour, rum, biscuits, gin, beans, Indian Meat, cloth and the like with some occasional purchases for items like a door handle, wheel etc. There is also at least one entry to pay someone for tending the store for a day. Book measures 12 x 8 inches with 94 pages (47 sheets with entries on both sides) plus covers. Great piece of history. Thank you.
