Hyde structures his work chronologically, beginning with the first three popes to the start of volume I, and concluding with a discussion of Clement X to the close of volume II. Externally, sound, with rubbing, heavier to the joints. Loss to the head of each spine. Joints are cracked with boards tenderly held. Light spots and general soiling to boards and spine. Spots to endpapers and fore edge. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with the odd spot, mainly to the first and last pages. Many pages remain unopened, particularly to volume II.
