Published in that year by Sherwood, Neely and Jones. In these two volumes I have picked out: a plate of John Pilton's Manufactury in Chelsea; a Table showing the Price of Stocks in Feb that year; the Inauguration of the new President of the United States, James Madison; an extract from the Voyages of Christopher Columbus; Sir Humphrey Davy's lectures at the Royal Institution; travels to Madagascar and report on pygmies living there; report on the fate of the Ship Bounty; extract from a report by William Cobbett on poor relief; the end of the war between Sweden and Russia; report on the Turkish religious ceremonies used in their mosques.Bound in half black leather on blue marbled hardboards. Gilt bands, dark red leather title blocks and gilt lettering to the spines. Scuffed a little especially to the head of one. The marbled paper is torn on one volume and mostly missing on the front board of the other. Minor wear to corners. Pages are foxed here and there and have smudges. Jan-June volume has some staining to the page edges and some bookworm to the last few pages of the index at the back. Some white marks to the top edges of the pages. Binding tight. Jan-June 576 pages, July-Dec 528 pages, 21 x 13 cm.
