1798 Robert Hennell I & David Hennell II Georgian Solid Silver Crest Sugar Bowl

Description: 1798 Georgian Solid Silver Sugar Two Handle Sugar Bowl, Gilded to the Inside. Full Hallmarks for Robert Hennell I & David Hennell II 1798. London, England. 1798. Gorgeous Beautifully Made Georgian Boat Shaped Two Handle Sugar Bowl. Engraved to one side with the motto NON FLECTIMUS. (“Do not bend”), and engraved to the other side with a scroll monogram J.J.A. enclosed within a ring of Laurel leaves. In antique in excellent used pre-loved antique condition with very minor gilt loss to the inside. There is a very minor fault where the heron has been engraved deeply. A small pin head size ding was noted to the right of the monogrammed cartouche (this was missed on my two previous checks), very minor and not at all noticeable unless closely inspecting. There are some minor scratches present, again, very minor and not noticeable. This is all commensurate with age; it sounds extensive but is all very minor. Measurements approximately: Height to the top of the handles: 11cm (4.1/4”) Width handle to handle inclusive: 18.5cm (7.1/4”) Width back to front: 9cm (3.1/2”) Weight 289g I have given it a quick wipe over, but as with all my items I don't over clean or polish.
