Description: Sarah Grubb was a Quaker minister, writer and founder of a girl’s school in Ireland, the Clonmel School where one of their teachers was Susanna Corder, another prominent Quaker teacher and writer. Gurbb’s father, William Tuke, helped found three Quaker schools: Ackworth School, Bootham School and Trinity Lane Quaker Girls’ School. Grubb and her husband spent several years traveling Europe as Quaker missionaries. The book is in good condition, with a cracked spine and some cracked hinges. Inside the front is a label from Joseph Brinton proclaiming his purchase of htis and 100 other volumes from Catherine Jacobs, widow of Joshua Jacob of West Chester, Pennsylvania. On the title page at the upper corner is written “R Harvey 1835”.
