This is the 4 January 1792 Assignat de vingt-cinq sols or twenty five sols banknote. The banknote is off-white in color with black printing. It depicts, on the front's bottom center a rooster with a banner, while the top center shows an eye with rays emanating from it. The denomination is spelled out in the center of the note and is written as 25 sols within a frame below the rooster. The back of the note is blank. The note is series 909e and has no serial number noted but has a signature to the right of the front. The note has two raised seal marks on the front left and right of center. One partially says Republic Francaise and shows the date 1792. The note also has a watermark showing the letters "LA NATION 25 Sols" in two lines in the center of the note. This is Pick A55. Pick Number: Pick A55 Condition: I would grade this banknote as extremely fine to about uncirculated. We believe this note was never circulated, but it has a light horizontal fold and a couple of waves within the note which we believe occurred during storage. The note, as is always the case with these, is badly cropped. It also has some wrinkling and waviness to the surface. It has all of its details very well preserved. The note has no pinholes, no tears, and no splits. The note is clean with no graffiti, or stains. It is crudely trimmed and this shows as uneven sides and edges.
