1790s SALT GLAZE STONEWARE OVOID JUG WITH COBALT DECORATIONS EARLY GERMAN STYLE

Description: This is an early ovoid stoneware jug from the 1700s or early 1800 era with beautiful cobalt decorations....it is an early German style, but was attributed to be American made by some experts. Whether it was made in Germany or in America by a German immigrant potter, this is a wonderful early stoneware jug!....It has bright cobalt blue swirled decorations with a pair of fruit on front....cobalt decorations around neck and handle also.....early ovoid only 2 7/8"across base.....hand thrown on a potter's wheel....applied handle....ring collar....9 3/4"tall...Excellent condition with no chips, hairlines or damage of any kind. A nice clean jug with only some normal light dirt stains that could be cleaned. We acquired this early jug from an old Pennsylvania estate in the Philadelphia area. I guarantee it is authentic and over 200 years old....
