Description: 1763 Marmora Oxoniensia by Richard Chandler Front Cover, Framed Preowned Condition. Framed with Glass Front. "Marmora Oxoniensia. OXONII E TYPOGRAPHEO CLARENDONIANO. IMPRENSIS ACADEMIAE. MDCCLXIII." Book was printed in 1763 as a guide to the Arundel Marbles which form a part of the collection of the Ashmolean Museum at Oxford. It was created by Richard Chandler, a noted antiquary, who translated the Greek inscriptions found on several of the objects into Latin.
