Description: Offered here is a small engraving (3 3/4 by 5 3/4) from the publication Antiquities of Herculaneum, published in Naples in 1757. The work reproduced for the first time many of the frescos and murals in the then newly discovered archeological site, Ercolano. The engraver was Filippo Morghen (1730-1777) after a drawing by the artist, Niccolo Vanni (active in Naples 1750-1770). This print is from my personal collection which I am beginning to sell off. Unless noted otherwise in the description, the prints, art and other items that I sell are not "reproductions". For example, offered maps are of the period. Please check my other listings for additional items of interest. I will combine shipping.
