1/72 Resin Italian MAS Boat Grillo Choroszy Modelbud #S50 Factory Sealed MISB

Description: I have to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. THIS IS MY LAST ONE! This is a WWI weapon that I had never heard of. Here is the idea: The Italians developed this specialty craft with two driven caterpillar tracks (one chain loop on each side) to crawl over floating boom defenses and silently attack unsuspecting moored ships with two side-dropped torpedoes. The main electric motor was quiet and well suited for the task, but the driven chain loops made quite a racket when they were engaged. The system was used just once in 1918 by Commander Pelligrine and the crew of the Grillo. They were captured and spent the rest of the war as prisoners. The kit is named Italian MAS Boat Grillo and MAS stands for Motoscafo Armato Silurante (torpedo-armed motorboat). These are normally fast boats, but this one was not since it was not engaging with an active enemy. I found no listings for this kit on eBay (rare and hard-to-find!), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship this kit quickly. Here is what I have found online about this unique resin model kit: Th Choroszy Modelbud website (modelbud.pl) has a bare-bones page for this kit with a full-color image of the cover art and the parts count (177). Scalemates.com has a listing that shows an open box with Ziplock baggies of lots of tan resin parts. There are links to three walkarounds, but not much information about the kit. This kit is in small box about 9” x 6” x 1”. As you can see from the pictures, the kit is in great shape and still sealed with tape strips, so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one resin model kit with 177 highly detailed resin parts (many of them hooks for the caterpillar chain) to allow you to build an Italian MAS Boat Grillo.
