Two Sermons upon Part of St Judes Epistle dated 1631 - 30 pages Richard Hooker (25 March 1554 – 2 November 1600) was an English priest in the Church of England and an influential theologian. He was one of the most important English theologians of the sixteenth century. His defence of the role of redeemed reason informed the theology of the seventeenth-century Caroline Divines and later provided many members of the Church of England with a theological method which combined the claims of revelation, reason and tradition. Half brown leathr on buff hardboards with gilt border between the two. Gilt decorative bands, motifs and lettering to the spine. Front board a little loose. A few light stains to the front board. Both hinges are split. First few pages are loose. Some pencil marginalia. Page 181 has a couple of repairs. The odd spot of foxing but generally clean especially for a book which is nearly 400 years old! 27 x 19 cm. Postage will be by Air Mail outside of UK. If you buy more than one item then the postage cost falls for the second and further items as I will put them into one parcel - so you save money.
