Description: Nuremburg (Germany) Pewter Relief flat Plate Set 3 Holy Roman Empire 17th Century Ferdinand II&III & Jesus Christ with Apostles (Kaiserteller plates). Condition is Used/ Antique. This set is a family heirloom passed down from Swiss extension of our family and are a unique historical set. Compared and verified to identical plates recently sold separately at other recent auctions valued at high as $1400 each. Ferdinand II Nuremberg pewter relief plate circa 1630 with Ferdinand ll at the center medallion. Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand ll on horseback with inscription: "Ferdinand: ll. DG. RO: IM: S. A:" There are eleven numbered oval cartouches bordered by mannerist strap work with grotesque masks in between, each contains an equistrian mounted figure of the Emperor from the house of Hapsburg with each of there names in the legend. 1- Rudolf, 2- Albert, 3-Frider lll, 4-Albert ll, 5- Frider llll, 6- Maximi l, 7-Carol V, 8-Ferdin l, 9-Maxmil llm 10- Rudolf l, 11- Mathias l. Condition: Plate shows usage/wear and patina. There is a small crack near the center and possible evidence of repair at the rear. 7.75 in diameter, 252 grams. Attributed to Georg Schmauss. Ferdinand III plate. Nuremberg pewter plate circa 1600s Center of plate Equestrian mounted Emperor Ferdinand III surrounded on rim by figures of 6 prince electors in oval medallions. Inscription: "Ferdinand.III. DG: ROM: IM: S.A." Translation- Ferdinand III, Emperor of the Romans, Ever August. Fabulous workmanship for this time period. This plate has had a repair at some point in its history as evidenced by linear metal work and partial repair around the center circle. There is a small rim crack remaining. Metal has some minor evidence of blunt or push bend wear and of course the pewter is age patina appropriate. Makers Mark top center rim likely Zacharias Spatz. 7.5 in diameter. 218 grams Jesus Christ and Apostles flat relief pewter Nuremberg plate. 17th Century. Jesus Christ as world ruler and the Twelve Apostles. 7 inch diameter. There is wear and scratches around center relief. Several minor nicks around protruded rim.
