Description: I was told this is Kingman turquoise when I purchased it from a vintage store many years ago. It does have similar color/matrix as Kingman mine turquoise and I encourage an interested buyer to do their research as I have no way to prove this is from the Kingman Mine. It is 16" long (with the clasp) with graduated, heshi beads. The beads' disc size looks to increase from 5mm at the clasp to 15mm by the main silver bead (best I can tell using a ruler). There are no hallmark markings for who made it or for silver purity. The luster, heavy patina, and non-magnetic qualities of the silver beads leads me to believe it is likely sterling silver. I don't know how old this piece is, but older native pieces often did not bear hallmarks when they were made to be kept and not sold into trade. Again, I don't know if this is why there is no hallmark, and make no guarantees, but am offering it as a possible reason. The beads appear to be cut stone, not reconstituted powder. I am not an expert, so take opinion that for what you will. The three main silver beads have what appears to be a thunderbird design stamped into them. Condition is good and wearable, but it appears the hook clasp has been reused for a repair, likely when the necklace restrung at some point as the wire/crimps look newer. Stone have no major faults/cracks that I see, but do be aware that most turquoise has natural fissures (matrix) and there are a few small chips at the edge of some beads. Please refer to pictures. I tried to get all angles so that you can best assess the condition. I have not altered the photos in any way except to crop them, so the color etc. hasn't been augmented. I don't know if this turquoise has been stabilized but there is a nice shine to the stones. This is a stunning vintage piece with a good weight to it (I tried to weigh it- pictured- but the beads made it so I couldn't coil it tight enough on my small scale, I had to hold it above the scale to get an approximate ounce reading). These are definitely getting harder to find at reasonable prices. Get a great deal while you can!
