Description: This is an original leaf from the 1576 3rd Edition version of The Actes and Monuments (full title: Actes and Monuments of these Latter and Perillous Days, Touching Matters of the Church), popularly known as Foxe's Book of Martyrs - this was a work of Protestant history and martyrology by Protestant English historian John Foxe, first published in 1563 by John Day. The leaf measures approx 8 1/4" x 11 3/4" (21cm x 29.5cm) and shows page no. 633 one side and page no. 634 the other side. The 16th century paper is quite thin/fragile and has a combination of wear/creasing/spotting/staining/discolouration/small holes - please review the images provided to best establish condition prior to purchase.
