Description: I must clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. THIS IS MY LAST ONE! Kinetic Model Kits has been very active in producing high quality weapon sets and support vehicles (such as Tow Tractors, Fire Engines and Mobile Electric Power Plants) mainly for 1/48 scale aircraft. This release is a General Atomics MQ-9 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) that has become ubiquitous in all theaters of operation. I recently visited the National Museum of the USAF and saw one of these hanging overhead. I was surprised by its wingspan and overall size. The wingspan is about the same as a B-25! Kinetic has produced the Reaper in both 1/48 and 1/72 scales, so you can get one to fill any space or diorama need that you have. There are about a dozen listings for this kit on eBay (from a variety of sellers), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship this item to you very quickly. From other sources, I have found the following background about the subject and kit: General Atomics’ MQ-9 Reaper is an outgrowth development of their very successful MQ-1 Predator. Larger and more powerful, it can carry up to 3,000 lbs. of munitions. These can include AGM-114 Hellfire missiles, GBU12 Paveway II and the JDAM family of bombs to mention just some. The MQ-9 was deployed to Afghanistan in October 2007, and flew its first operational mission in Iraq in July 2008. The MQ-9 can fly autonomously, but its flight is always monitored. This release includes a new stunning set of decals which provide eight marking options! Scale Models posted a long (26 minutes) Unboxing Video on YouTube that is all in German. The first few minutes covers the information on the box. Then the instructions get a thorough review, followed by a study of the large decal sheet. About halfway through, the plastic sprues are closely examined with extreme close-ups of both sides of the parts. I can’t tell what his verdict was, but I think I heard “wunderbar” a few times. This kit is in a colorful, flat box about 15” x 10” x 1.5”. As you can see from the pictures, the package is in excellent shape and still sealed with tape strips, so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one complete injection molded plastic model kit with about 70 detailed grey and clear plastic parts (including four AGM-114 Hellfire missiles and two GBU-12 Paveway II laser-guided bombs) and a sheet of amazing Cartograf decals (designed by Crossdelta) to build a detailed MQ-9 Reaper UAV.
