Steps to Repair Wicker Furniture Step 1. Identify the damaged wicker Assess the damages you need repair and determine how extensive the damaged wicker is and thus how much wicker replacement material you need. Step 2. Find proper replacement wicker Your wicker furniture can be made of either natural or synthetic plastic wicker. So identify what type of material of your damaged wicker is first, and then measure the size (width / thickness etc) of your damaged wicker and then get a match as close as possible. It might be difficult to find a perfect match especially for the color but in most cases a pretty close match wicker material can always blends in nicely with your originals. Step 3. Remove damaged wicker Observe and take note of the original weave pattern in case you might not recognize it when you weave the new wicker back in.
