Description: Offered here is an antique composition doll with tin eyes and marked only with number 13. I think she looks like Nancy from Arranbee, made in the early 1930’s. There is a small chip over the upper lid of the left eye and for that reason the doll is offered “as is”, as pictured and described. Her wig is light brown, made of mohair with short bangs and is worn in braids. The eyebrows are single stroke, very thin, and there are painted lower lashes. The tin eyes have slits that once held the upper lashes, but these are now absent. The cheeks are gently blushed and the coral open mouth reveals teeth and tongue. The doll needs a good cleaning – she has not been stored well and was found by me at a local barn sale having lived for more than 60 years in the tack barn. Her cotton sun dress is blue with white polka-dots and small Mother of Pearl clasp on the sash/belt. Her oxblood shoes have small heels and metal snap closures. There are some fissures of the composition on the legs, but considering her storage history, she is in good condition, suitable for restoration.
