Description: This is a SCALE tactical band antenna for frequency hopping radios on Merkava tanks that operate in the 30-88 frequency band. These are made for me, RichJohnson_Models_N_Stuff. This antenna is just like the US AS-3900 frequency hopping tactical band antenna transmitting on 30-88 mhz. It can also be used on US Abrams tanks painted in US colors as they are all supplied by the same contractors Harris and Shakespeare. The antenna is built up from brass wire and a flexible rubber base using a special process to represent the tapered two segment fiberglass antennas that are used on IDF Merkava tanks and vehicles . This is an exact replica of the antenna as I have the real thing to measure from right down to the bolt heads. The beautiful scale bases were made to exacting specifications for me by my friends at JVM3D Concepts. Just the scale base is a masterpiece detail part. The tapered antenna features the appearance of the two fiberglass section whip with a scale antenna tip that is a teardrop shaped plastic topper held on by electrical tape on the real antenna. You can flex the antenna back and forth at the flexible rubber spring section or give the antenna a slight bend and then tie it down on your model for that distinctive look if you intend not to remove it. But if you bend it and tie it down for a long time, the rubber base will likely take a permanent position and never straighten out again so be aware of that.
